Visit from Granny

Granny and Charles had a great time together!  I am so thankful my mother was able to come visit while Brian and I went to our training.  My mother is a terrific person!  She stayed with Charles for four nights.  He loved it.

Here is a picture of the room all fixed up for our daughter.  We have gone through so much and still going through so much for our new child.  I hope when she gets here she will like her room.

Branson, December 2011

One of the stops we went to in Branson was the Butterfly Palace.  There were all kinds of beautiful butterflies.  It was nice because we walked through the area on a little sidewalk trail and there were lots of pretty plants and water features.  There was even a place where we could see the developing butterflies.
Here is a picture of one formation in the Fantastic Caverns near Springfield.  We loved riding through these caverns.  I didn't get to take too many pictures of all we did in Branson because I actually got the stomach flu for one night and a day.  Other things we did were driving through the Christmas lights, shopping, and eating out.  One place we went to eat that we really liked was Branson Cafe in downtown.
We also stopped at the big Bass Pro Shop in Springfield.  It was pretty cool.  We enjoyed looking at the live alligator, turtles, and fish.  We also bought some camping stuff.

Christmas 2011

A dancing and singing cowboy Santa from GG-Pa and GG-Ma. There's a lot more presents that he opened but I'm too lazy to put them all up here!
This is the one present he opened on Christmas Eve at Nana's and Papoo's house. By the way, Papaw is now Papoo according to Charles.
This is us keeping up our tradition of making Christmas cookies. He helped me cut the cookies out. Then, after they were baked, he helped put the sprinkles and sugar on them.

Christmas Train Ride

Santa Claus came by and passed out candy canes.
This is Smiley O'Riley the clown. He is from Oklahoma City dental offices that have a train theme for kids. He passed out a packet with a toothbrush and toothpaste.
Charles had cookies. Yummy!
Charles is looking out the window when we first started on the trip.

Camping in the back yard (May 2011)

Charles had a cot to sleep in with his own sleeping bag. He ended up sleeping on the floor though!
We made s'mores! Yummy! But Charles only wanted to eat the marshmallow, so Daddy ate the rest of it for him.
We had an air mattress to sleep on and Charles helped Daddy air it up.
Charles had the stakes because he was helping Daddy set up the tent.
Here's the tent all set up! We weren't sure if we were actually going to sleep in there the whole night but Charles finally passed out after we pretended to be asleep for a looong time!
